5K 5K - Run for your Money

The New Year’s resolution process has started already. Every year we come up with things that we would like to do or changes we need to make in our lives. You may be a goal setter naturally and even better you may actually accomplish the goals you set. However, if you are like us and the vast majority of people, your New Year’s resolutions likely fall by the wayside.

A group of people have put together a community called 5k5k. The goal is simple, train and run/walk a 5k race and save or payoff $5,000 in debt. We like this idea a lot at iDiet365 because it combines two areas of personal improvement. The average American has between $5,000-$8,000 in credit card debt alone, and according to the CDC over 30% are obese. Combining a fitness and savings goal into one resolution might be the motivation you need to actually accomplish something this year.

Go check out the community at my5k5k.ning.com. Sure you don’t want to join yet another online community. We understand, but writing down or participating with others that share your goals goes a long way to assuring your success.

Be sure to check out our favorite 5K training program from the team over at Cool Running. The Couch to 5k training program has been used by thousands to get their bodies safely conditioned to compete in and finish a 5k. Good luck!
